2009 Scholarship News

Lannae Long

Since 1990, the Nashville Post has awarded over $275,000 in 224 scholarships to deserving students majoring in the fields of engineering, architecture, mathematics, computer science and related fields. We look forward to assisting another group of deserving students this year. Scholarship applications for the 2009-2010 academic year will be accepted from February 16, 2009through April 17, 2009. All portions of the application must be completed and postmarked by April 17, 2009 to be considered.

To be eligible, you must be a son/daughter or grandson/granddaughter of an active or deceased member of the SAME Nashville Post; where active member is defined as being a current member (at the time of the application) who has held current membership for one continuous year or more; student member of the SAME Nashville Post; son/daughter or grandson/granddaughter of an employee of a current SAME Nashville Post sustaining member firm (see the members section on www.SAMENashvillePost.org/members.html for sustaining member list); or employee of current sustaining member firm. Other requirement to be considered for this scholarship can be found on the application.

Schedule for 2009:

February 16 - April 17, 2009 - accepting scholarship applications
April 17, 2009 - final postmark date for all portions of the application
Late June - July 14, 2009 - notification of scholarship
August 1 - August 14, 2009 - disseminate scholarships to colleges/universities
